Ironman 70.3, Here i Come!

That's right, in just about 7 hours, I'll be off to the start line for the Aviva Ironman 70.3 race. The past week has been busy with preparations for the race and hosting my Norwegian friend and professional triathlete, Vinnie! He's such a great person to know and simply hang out with. No airs, no 'super star' demeanor, just plain down-to-earth and pleasant all round. I'm glad that I got some useful tips on racing from him. He even offered to lend me his race disc wheel, but I decided not to take up the offer... well, at least not at this point! It'll be pretty embarassing to have someone riding a low-end Giant bike pass me. (Surely that wouldn't happen!)

I do hope to come in under 5hr 30mins. The bike course is pretty fast, so I'm hoping to shave off some time from there. I pray that the weather holds up tomorrow and that we'll have a cool, nice breeze blowing during the bike and run legs. My performance really depends on how hot it is!

Alrightey, it's time to turn in now. It's been a great and satisfying week leading up to race day. I'm feeling good and with God on my side, I think I'm gonna have a fun time out there :)

Thanks for the great company and fellowship in this journey YH, Jaclyn, Shirely, Huimei, Vinnie, my brother Joshua (thank you for receiving Vinnie so well!) and my buddy, best friend and prayer warrior, Ms Soo.
