Bintan, here I come!

I'm back from a short break! It's one of those dry spells of blogging where it gets a bit of a pain to log in and contribute something worth contributing. Anyways, great things have taken place, many lessons learnt and it's a good season of life to be in. Well honestly, not all is smooth and rosy, but dry spells are good testing of a man's character, eh? Transitions through life test one's state of mind and emotions and questions you on where you place your security and significance in. It's transitions that mark precious milestones in your life journey as you move and navigate your way through the hot, dry and crummy seasons.

Well, in about 4 hours time I will be heading off to Bintan for a transition of sorts. A race actually. And we call these transitions T1 (swim to bike) and T2 (bike to run). I'm proud of the group of people from the yet-to-be-formed tri group, TriCommunity. Haha, it's just a bunch of us folks from church who have the same passion for triathlon and are looking at forming an interest group.

Many of them are doing the OD for the first time and this race would be significant for them in many ways. I know some are doing it to overcome personal barriers/mindsets and setting new marks in their own race of life. I'll be there to cheer, support and encourage them. These are mighty warriors in the making!

Ezra, Huimei, Sam, Sky and Kevin - all who are doing this race for the first time. You're on my mind and I'll be rooting for you at the finishing line!

My TRUE Heroes - ZEROES

Recently, I've been hooked on the NBC science fiction drama television series, HEROES. For those of you who have not heard or seen the show, it ain't got anything to do with any super heroes from Marvel comics. The show tells the story of several people who "thought they were like everyone else until they woke with incredible abilities" such as telepathy, time travel and flight. These people soon realize they have a role in preventing a catastrophe and saving mankind.

HOWEVER, that's just SCIENCE FICTION. Now hear this.... the reality is that there are truly people living in our midst with extraordinary abilities too. They could just be the neighbour staying opposite you, the Econ-minimart uncle, the postman, the auntie selling bak ku teh, the SBS bus driver... they could be someone YOU KNOW very well.

Move over NBC. Here's the real deal...

Hahahaha. Yes, this is my brand of humour. It's no wonder why I like watching movies that make spoofs of other movies =)

Have a splendid May Day!
